Position Details:
The System Administrator is responsible for many duties specializing in setup and administration of new and replacement hardware, including multiple server types. Also assists with resolution of software and hardware related issues, proactively monitors key server metrics to assure uptime, performs after hours duties including on-call and maintenance support, works with Active Directory, Exchange, and tape backups using Backup Exec. Position will function at direction of IT Operations manager. This position is full-time with office hours M-F 8a ' 5p but requires the ability to work from home on nights / weekends. Occasional/Moderate travel to other locations will be required.
Qualifications:
BS in Computer Science or equivalent discipline is preferred. Technical certifications such as MCSE would be valued. Strong skills with Microsoft products, particularly working with Windows Servers and Active Directory. Exchange and SQL would be a plus. Superior customer service & management skills, for technical / systems related issues. Excellent hands-on technical skills in building/installing/configuring/managing a wide variety of servers. In addition to the technical qualifications, you must have background in areas such as defining & resolving problems in a timely manner, provide guidance to team member, have the 'customer comes first' type mentality, ability to 'think outside the box', work with team members as well as independently.
