The University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine has an opportunity available for an Acupuncturist (Part-Time), within the Department of Psychiatry/Research Division, located on our Medical Campus.
This position works in a variety of capacities directly reporting to the Director and /or the Clinical Director of the Division and assisting in all aspects of clinic needs. Responsible for clinical/medical related support tasks, assisting in clinical patient services as allowed by license and performing massages. Performs clinical and medical related support tasks including customer service, managing patient flow and information; assists with scheduling procedures, preparing rooms and patients for the various treatments. Also responsible for supervision and tracking of supplement supplies; obtaining patient information regarding supplements as recommended by the acupuncturist or medical physician; tracking the supplement usage; completing necessary forms related to supplements. Assists with clinical patient services including: body work as allowed by license with focus on acupressure massage and other health promotion massage techniques; stimulation foot baths; electrical stimulation applications, application of oils, foot reflexology and other appropriate techniques. May be required to assist in research project protocols when there is an ongoing research project. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements include, graduation from an accredited acupuncturist program, current/valid/unrestricted State of Florida Acupuncturist license, plus three years of relevant experience working as an Acupuncturist. Must present excellent oral and written English communication skills, able to multitask within fast-paced office environment, as well as work independently and in a team environment. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required. Must be able to maintain a high standard of professionalism and customer service. Knowledge of University of Miami process and procedures highly preferred. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications will be considered.
