DESCRIPTION: 

The Ship Repair Director, Finance will oversee and direct the finance activities of the BAE Systems Ship Repair line of business, comprising 5 business areas and over 3,000 employees across the Continental United States and Hawaii.

The Director will report to the Vice President, Finance of the Electronics, Intelligence & Support Operating Group and to the Ship Repair President. The Director will retain supervisory responsibility over the finance personnel at each business area.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Retain responsibility, authority and accountability for all corporate-wide general accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury and taxes.

Direct the corporate-wide operations of the accounting, credit & collection, banking, cash flow, and tax of the various business areas in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and industry practice.

Ensure compliance with laws and company policies in estimating, accumulating and reporting financial results in a manner that enhances shareholder value.

Direct the corporate-wide government contract compliance program to ensure financial compliance with contract terms including regulations set forth in FAR and CAS.

Manage the financial aspects of mergers and acquisitions.

Ensure that key management personnel understand the corporation’s financial objectives and the impact of their decisions on the performance of the company. This responsibility includes establishing that all business engagements by the corporation will directly improve the corporation’s position.

Review and approve significant financial policies, transactions and business decisions from alternatives being reviewed across the corporation.

Establish the practices & systems necessary to ensure that all finance and accounting books of records are maintained with integrity and that appropriate internal controls are in place to secure the company’s assets.
MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING: 

U.S. Citizen
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field, plus 15 years directly related experience.
Results-oriented and visionary team player, who can embrace change and drive business performance and growth
Strong communications and organization skills
Ability to work with personnel at all levels of an organization


PREFER THE FOLLOWING:

Master’s Degree
Defense / Maritime Industry Experience
CPA certification
