The qualified candidate will work on a program in the Information Management Analysis and Processing (IMAP) business area to develop a web application to support intelligence decision makers. Applying a mission driven knowledge engineering process, we design competency questions addressing intelligence issues. Semantic Web techniques are combined with a Web 2.0 philosophy to deploy these topical knowledge bases through the browser.
For continued growth, we are looking for a hands-on developer familiar with the web-centric notion of services. This person should have the ability to work independently coupled with the initiative to identify and explore new techniques.
- 5+ years of software development experience across the entire lifecycle.
- Python programming experience
- Practical experience with web-based development and deployment (LAMP/WAMP)
- Site design experience including XHTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Basic Linux system administration skills
- Familiarity with open source systems development (SVN, TRAC, DARCS)
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- Experience with RDF and RDF triple stores, knowledge engineering experience, and experience with reasoning systems.
- Experience with military/intelligence systems and decision making processes, turbogears/RDFLib experience, Lisp development experience, and experience with ESRI products or Open Source Systems like MapServer.
