Lays out, tests and troubleshoots mechanical sub-systems or systems and performs mechanical operations associated with systems development.
Provides technical support for engineers and/or scientists working in a research or design/development environment.
Performs a variety of non-standardized assignments of moderate complexity.
Selects and adapts standard procedures or equipment. Receives initial instructions, equipment requirements and guidance from supervisor or other engineering personnel.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts various tests or experiments of moderate complexity (e.g., structural strength tests) requiring minor modifications in test set-ups or procedures.
Processes and computes data using specified formulas and procedures.
Performs routine analysis of data to check and verify applicability, practicality and accuracy.
Extracts and compiles technical data such as charts, data sheets and graphs, under general supervisory direction and presents such data in a prescribed format as required.
Constructs, adapts and modifies assemblies, systems and sub-systems to troubleshoot and correct malfunctions.
Utilizes equipment requiring interpretation of data to troubleshoot, debug and perform routine measurements on mechanical assemblies, sub-systems and/or systems.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
Requires an Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or four (4) years directly related experience.
