EDUCATION:
- Required: MD plus approved pathology residency
- Desired: Advanced degree in business or health sciences
EXPERIENCE: - Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills
- Experience with pathology operations, medical billing, Human Resources and Accounting
- Strong customer focus and understanding of Anatomic Pathology operations
- Ability to communicate with high level decision makers in the organization
- Personal adaptability and ability to lead change
- Demonstrated ability to operate successfully in a complex organization structure and achieve results
- Ability to develop and sustain strong physician and leader relationships
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Must hold valid unrestricted license to practice medicine in Texas or eligible to obtain Texas Licensure
- Must be board certified in anatomic pathology
- Related Regulations including OSHA, EPA, CLIA, CAP, HIPAA, STARK and others
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Confers with division leaders, senior leaders, managing directors and physicians to review practice operations and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions
- Guides and directs practice leaders and physicians to increase effectiveness, revenue, new business and quality output
- Works closely with Finance, Sales and Operations leaders to ensure practice revenues and OM are monitored and on target
- Participate on leadership teams in an effort to standardize and improve operations within AmeriPath
- Works in partnership with the AP leadership team and multiple AmeriPath practices to enhance customer relationships and revenue opportunities
- Works in partnership with Human Resources for the recruitment, selection, retention and motivation of physicians and managing directors including training, development, and performance management
