BAE Systems will be supporting a set of IDIQ proposal requirements. As we await the final request for proposal (RFP), we are proactively looking for qualified candidates that would be interested in employment opportunities at this location. Since it is a proposal effort, positions would be dependent upon BAE Systems winning the proposal.
This is a managerial position responsible for the complete lifecycle management of the systems engineering process. Incumbent will establish a good working rapport with customer technical representatives, assist the customer and facilitate requirements definition, documentation, analysis and traceability. Manage the technical team responsible for the design/engineering of scalable, maintainable and cost effective systems engineering solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements.
Resposnibilties will include:
- Interface with key clients to establish the technical direction of significant systems engineering projects and work processes.
- Responsible for the design/engineering of scalable, maintainable and cost effective systems engineering solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements. Plans and coordinates major system analysis, design, and development from conception to delivery including costing, implementation. Oversees a team which researches, evaluates, and recommends new computer systems equipment and technologies. Ensures that Systems Engineering Team effectively utilizes requirements analysis and definition, system integration, and testing and customer interface and support and that the team provides support to customers and government organizations in all areas of the systems engineering lifecycle.
- Devises solutions to complex operational problems including those related to commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and GOTS software product evaluation and integration, business processes re-engineering (BPR), CMMI process development/implementation and system engineering methodologies of information systems, networks, and databases.
- Recommends design changes/enhancements for improved systems availability and performance, collaborating with each of the other four Technical Directors (Transition Manager, Chief Engineer, Network Engineering Lead and Network Implementation Lead) to ensure continuity of all customer project activities, including oversight of matrixed staff.
- Will assist in the design and implementation of major systems engineering technology projects. Performs hardware/software analysis to provide comparative data of performance characteristics and suitability within the existing systems environment. Develops strategic recommendations for DHS customers including ongoing alignment of implemented technologies to DHS Enterprise Architecture.
- Will provide management oversight to the technical team including but not limited to: ensuring accurate time reporting; conducting performance evaluations; assisting with employee career development; assignment of work tasks; tracking progress and quality of work performed; and planning training needs.
Required
15+ Years with Bachelors or 13+ Years with Masters or 10+ Years with PhD
- Current ITIL v3 Certification (minimum of Foundations or Foundations Bridge Exam from ITIL v2)
- Knowledge includes demonstrated specialist capability in at least one primary IT network capability element, such as operating systems, platform or protocols.
- Candidate should possess a high level of competence and proven experience in these areas:
