The candidate will have operated in industrial environments that are controlled by PLCs. Must be experienced and fully conversant with ladder logic and the programming of Allen Bradley software such as RS Logix 5000 and RS Linx. An ability to troubleshoot PLCs and other electrical problems in the plant will be an asset. The candidate will be involved in programming a plant operating system, as well as installation, commissioning and training of the system. Must have knowledge of Ethernet Networks basics. Also must have HMI programming experience, preferably iFix or Allen Bradley PanelView.
• Install, troubleshoot, maintain Allen Bradley control logic systems
• Develop Maintenance Work Instructions illustrating how to back up software and programming
• Develop PM Schedule for backing up equipment
• Document changes and implement change control documentation for PLC logic upgrades/additions
• Interface with engineers and vendors to upgrade and install new equipment
• Evaluate and recommend solutions for error proofing and/or increase throughput through the use of logic structure or additional equipment installation and programming. Also, develop BoMs for new equipment and justification of same
• Integrate existing equipment to assist with error proofing and other lean initiatives
• Train Maintenance staff in troubleshooting techniques through the use of PLC
• Upgrade of existing controls equipment remaining within the Allen Bradley controls architecture
• Develop Safe Operating Practices for PLC work and other electrical interfaces
• Shift work is required – Some supervision of contractors or hourly technicians is required
An Associate degree in a technical field or comparable 4+ years experience of a technical nature; additional 5 years of related engineering specialist experience is required.
PLC – Allen Bradley/Rockwell programming, troubleshooting and installation experience
The incumbent must provide evidence that he/she possess the required skills and mechanical aptitude developed through related experience and necessary to perform the required work. Experience in the area of Military type contracts and/or vehicular design desired. The incumbent must be able to successfully administer multiple tasks simultaneously in a stressful and demanding environment.
The incumbent must exhibit the skills and patience needed to lead and train others with only moderate technical ability
PREFERENCES:
Knowledge of Maintenance of PLC programming and change management control. Also, must show implementation of small PLC/Error Proofing projects and/or projects specifically requiring extensive Ladder Logic changes/additions.. Automotive manufacturing experience a plus.
