BAE Systems is soliciting applicants for potential billets supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Carderock Division, Detachment located in Kitsap County WA. These billets are contingent upon a successful compete and contract award which is expected in late December.
We are seeking a Senior Engineer who will be responsible for the over-all technical supervision for a large support effort involving engineers, scientists, and acoustic experts working on submarine and surface ship signature silencing programs (primarily acoustics) including (but not limited to): ocean engineering support signature measurement; data acquisition and system development support; submarine and surface ship signature data measurement and analysis; and support for ship signatures and mines programs. Specific support will include submarine and surface ship signature measurement trials; development of trial documentation and test plans prior to at-sea periods; the assessment and improvement of current measurement procedures and systems improvement; support for signature trials and special trials and other related studies; the assessment of signature measurement systems; and support for data collection, reduction, analysis, reporting of submarine and surface ship trials data.
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of, and a history of working with, silencing issues (including non-acoustics/electromagnetics) as they relate to ship mission, design, and operation of ship systems, and how those issues influence modifications and silencing improvement to present ships, and design and specifications of future ships.
