SUMMARY OF THE JOB:
Supervise all manufacturing activities at the operation level and to achieve effective and efficient use of facilities and personnel as well as conformance to scheduling and budgets.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist with the development and formulation of long and short range plans, policies, programs operating procedures and objectives
2. Implements production of all products, integrating engineering projects into the regular operating process
3. Monitors all production reports to ensure achievement of financial, safety, quality and on-time delivery goals
4. Organizes the management talent base for efficient operations, promotes opportunities for management to upgrade skills through training sessions and seminars
5. Coordinates and monitors plans for reductions in cost and product lead times for existing and new product
6. Directs the implantation of advanced technology to aid in reaching production goals
7. Directs, advise, expedite and solve manufacturing and related problems by utilizing staff services to implement corrective action procedures
8. Oversees the programs instituted by the environmental , health and safety manager to ensure a healthful and safe working environment and the to comply with federal and state regulations
9. Coordinate and direct major projects such as expansions of facilities, acquisition and installation of capital equipment, major repairs and overhauls, plant layout changes, etc.
10. Prepares all necessary reports as required by customers and staff personnel
11. Ensure compliance with federal and state laws
12. Perform all duties in a safe manner
13. Perform other duties as assigned
BASIC SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Demonstrated ability to lead a team with strong leadership, communication and self-motivational skills
2. Solid interpersonal skills with experience in customer/supplier relations.
3. Self-motivated: Process/results oriented.
4. Problem solving skills required.
5. Experience with ISO 9001 or QS 9100 Quality Operating Systems,
6. Statistical training /experience desired.
7. Experience with lean manufacturing and kaizen techniques
8. Able to handle multiple assignments under extreme time constraints and high stress conditions
9. Must have strong work ethic, sense of urgency and a high energy level
10. Self-starter: bias for action, results oriented
11. Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines
12. Proficiency in Microsoft Office application, required
13. Must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends to meet business needs
14. Ability to work with a diversified work force

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
BS or BA degree in Manufacturing or Engineering and/ or equivalent. Minimum of 8 - 10 years of working in a Manufacturing Engineering environment with continuous advancing work.
