BAE Systems is soliciting applicants for potential billets supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Carderock Division, Detachment located in Kitsap County WA. These billets are contingent upon a successful compete and contract award which is expected in late December. 

We are seeking Diver Barge Masters to participate in a large technical effort involving engineers, scientists, and acoustic experts working on submarine and surface ship signature silencing programs. Specific diving/barge support will be provided for submarine and surface ship signature measurement trials and for special trials and other related studies.

The individuals hired will supervise diving operations and be responsible for the safety of all personnel. In addition, Diver Barge Masters will be responsible for managing maritime assets such as the M241 Barge and for the operation and maintenance of small craft and remote operated SUBSEA vehicle operation under all weather conditions in inland and ocean environments. As part of their responsibilities they will supervise heavy rigging operations, be responsible for administering the applicable support equipment certification program, and operate and maintain certifications for physical security systems IAW DoD and SCI requirements. Diver Barge Masters will also provide comments/recommendations to customers during the development, testing, and certification of new diving hardware and ocean Engineering systems and components.

Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate experience in the maintenance and certification of specialized deep-sea diving equipment including suits, compressors and associated auxiliary systems and tools IAW all applicable directives; be certified as a Deep Submergence Quality Assurance Supervisor and as a US Navy Diving Supervisor; and show a history of maintaining and operating Diver and other Ocean Engineering specialized systems and tools IAW the Navy's Deep Submergence Quality Assurance Manual and all other pertinent directives. Candidates should also demonstrate a professional knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of salvage diving and ship's husbandry, including the use of specialized underwater tools and systems used to perform hull and equipment maintenance. In addition, candidates should have experience managing maritime assets including responsibility for all aspects of operation and equipment maintenance.

Applicants must reside near, or be willing to relocate to, Kitsap County WA upon contract award. This position is controlled by the Service Contract Act (SCA) and is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Required: 
1. Exclusive US Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance immediately upon hiring.
2. Eligible for access to TS SCI.
3. Minimum five years experience in deep sea diving and ocean engineering equipment test and evaluation.
4. Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and specialized techniques employed in the support of the Ocean Engineering Diving program and knowledge of Ocean Engineering diving support requirements
5. Demonstrated practical knowledge of the operation, of submarine systems as they relate to the practice and safety of diving evolutions when conducted alongside in open water and at remote locations.
6. Ability to read, interpret and implement program security directives, safety regulations and local area instructions.
7. Certification as a crane operator meeting NAVFAC P-307 requirements.
8. Demonstrated ability to operate a semi trailer, mobile cranes and forklifts.

Preferred:
1. Active Secret or above clearance.
2. Demonstrated capability to summarize the results of analysis and develop recommendations for utilization in messages, reports, and other documentation.
