Legal/Export Compliance Specialist

Responsible for providing guidance to company personnel as it relates to Department of Commerce and Department of State U.S. Export regulations. Completion of U.S. Export related documentation to enable the Company, and its subsidiaries, to obtain export licenses and process other related export/import documents.  In addition may be required to support other Legal Compliance responsibilities.

II.  PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   

1.   Provide export and import guidance to company personnel as required.

2.  Processes export license applications and technical assistance agreements.

3. If required, process shipping and export documentation. 
4. May be required to conduct export training to BAE employees. 

5.   Participates in conducting internal compliance audits on a periodic basis.

6.  Provides BAE SYSTEMS Inc and/or government agencies with any required assistance or information needed during the review of license application.

7.  Maintains export related record keeping functions in the Company as required by law.

8.   Maintains the export licensing database for storing and tracking BAE SYSTEMS export licensing history.

9.  Support other Legal Compliance duties, as required.
Required
14+ Years with HS or 10+ Years with AA or 8+ Years with BS or 6+ Years with MS or 3+ Years with PhD
Six or more years experience in export or related field. Training in U.S. Export laws and regulations, ITAR, Commerce regulations preferred. (In addition to the items listed above, the Essential Functions are: 1. Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties set forth in Section II above. 2. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing; 3. Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliers; 4. Utilize computer skills to prepare appropriate reports and documents; 5. Make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations; 6. Analyze, evaluate, develop and implement processes and systems within budget and adhere to time requirements and schedule; 7. Design and develop products and services using state-of-the-art technology, principles, theories and concepts.)
