The selected candidate will perform duties related to the inspection, repair, and testing of instrumentation required to maintain armament system components. Works under general supervision and guidance of the Instrument Mechanic Leader. The essential job functions include: performing the full range of work involved in the inspection, repair, testing, modification, and overhaul of optical instruments and fire control equipment; applying broad practical knowledge of instrument equipment theory and repair practices; installing, repairing, maintaining, and adjusting indicating and controlling instrumentation; utilizing hand tools and precision instruments; disassembling malfunctioning instruments and examining and testing mechanism and circuitry for defects; trouble shooting equipment in or out of control system and replacing or repairing defective parts and testing assembly for conformance with specification. Additional duties require the ability to perform tasks utilizing vendor manuals and procedures; utilizing test and calibration instruments; performing inspections, making adjustments, and performing calibrations according to established specifications. This position is located in Hawaii. There is no relocation assistance available for this position.
