Plans, organizes and directs the activities of the Operations Planning and Control organization supporting their assigned Business Area. Responsible for the development and maintenance of the program master delivery schedule, and the material planning and control effort required to support the master delivery schedule. Ensures that the latest accepted resource planning techniques are utilized in creating all program production and material schedules, and that commitments are met in a manner that fulfills contractual and customer requirements. 

II. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Duties and responsibilities which occupy a major portion of time and importance in the job. Incumbent(s) perform one or more of the following duties.)

1. Directs and controls the activities of the planning and scheduling function. Utilizes various management control techniques required for successful monitoring and analysis of ongoing activities, feedback cycles and compliance with objectives. Ensures that these activities are coordinated for the purpose of meeting the Company's commitment to our customer.

2. Develops and maintains the Master Production Delivery Schedules for all programs within the Business Area. Accomplishes this task by utilizing the business plan and/or production plan, and by working with various support groups to develop detailed, 1st unit flows, milestone objectives, management overviews, and presentations.

3. Approves and performs analysis required to determine when reallocation of resources is required due to capacity limitations, program start up�s, or reschedules, and directs appropriate responses

4. Manages the activities of the material planning function to ensure that the required material, as identified and authorized in the program material plan and Bill of Material, is effectively managed to meet the programs production, and engineering requirements. Ensures that all material planning activities are done in accordance with Material Management and Accounting (MMAS) guidelines.

5. Ensures that all resources are coordinated to the detailed production schedule to meet customer requirements. Surfaces potential problems in a manner that will permit timely corrective action. Provides program status (management level) to Vice Presidents of Divisions and Directors as required. Provides detailed program status of the program throughout Operations and Program Management.

6. Establishes and maintains an effective working relationship with all functions within Operations and the Business Area. Ensures that a smooth flow of accurate and detailed information is maintained, problems are resolved, and required changes are implemented in an expedient manner.

7. As required by current schedules and future business projections, develops and maintains manpower forecasts and factory schedule loading. Ensures that proper manpower staffing resources are available to meet the budgeted needs of the programs within the business area.

8. Maintains an understanding of all Corporate and Operations policies relating to planning and control, analyzes content and disseminates information to personnel to assure consistent interpretation of policy. Analyzes specific functional requirements, determines compliance and develops new instructions when needed.

9. Utilizes Resource Planning computer system(s). Analyses the current system, makes recommendations, sets parameters and monitors implementation throughout the cycle. Ensures system integrity via training, education, system enhancements, user involvement meetings and written procedures.

10. Maintains state-of-the-art job related knowledge by keeping abreast of the latest production techniques and methods. v11. Establishes and maintains an effective and cohesive department unit through appropriate employee training and development. Applies appropriate motivation, performance appraisal, wage, and salary administration practices to ensure that direct reports are provided a fair and equitable work environment.
Bachelors Degree and 12+ years of related experience including manufacturing planning or procurement

Engineering background with mechanical and/or electrical components is preferred .
