SUMMARY OF THE JOB:
Responsible for establishing an infrastructure to support product manufacturing and engineering.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Serve as direct point of contact for product and process related issues from the representative manufacturing cell
2. Define and maintain the process steps required to create customer product using one piece flow and lean manufacturing concepts
3. Work closely with the Quality Engineering team to define the required quality plan to ensure each opportunity for error is considered
4. Work closely with the Customer Program Introduction team to define and ensure product is effective in meeting the requirements of the customer
5. Introduce and teach the manufacturing cell on new programs and current program changes
6. Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions
7. Lead/assist in structured corrective action process identifying root causes, determining effective solutions, and implementation of improvements to processes throughout manufacturing
8. Effectively communicate with all parts of the organization, customers, and suppliers regarding the status of products and processes
9. Initiate and take ownership of process improvement projects
10. Serve as project leader for new product and process introductions.
11. Manage the logistics of product manufacturing including order fulfillment, purchasing of materials, managing inventory, and communication with vendors and customers.
12. Develop, revise, and evaluate methods, tooling and quality processes for materials, products, equipment and facilities.
13. Develop work methods and procedures.
14. Report and facilitate correction and preventative action for out-of-specification conditions.
15. Provide general production support for the manufacturing area as needed.
16. Provide technical assistance and hands-on problem solving.
17. Perform capital equipment justification, as needed.
18. Plan and implement manufacturing cost-reduction opportunities
19. Assist other members in analyzing data and making corrections to the processes based upon data
20. Ensure compliance with federal and state laws
21. Perform all duties in a safe manner
22. Perform other duties as assigned
BASIC SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS: 
1. Solid interpersonal skills with experience in customer/supplier relations.
2. Self-motivated: Process/results oriented.
3. Problem solving skills required.
4. Able to handle multiple assignments under extreme time constraints and high stress conditions
5. Must have strong work ethic, sense of urgency and a high energy level
6. Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office application, required, AutoCAD experience a plus.
8. Must be flexible to work days, evenings, whatever to meet business needs.
9. Ability to work with a diversified work force

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
BS or BA degree in a technical discipline and the equivalent of 5 to 7 years in a manufacturing environment.
