BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:



To apply knowledge of and experience of manufacturing activities, and the scheduling/control of those activities to ensure the effective completion of contractual requirements. Support projects with discretion and independent judgment.  



PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   (Duties and responsibilities which occupy a major portion of time and importance in the job.  Incumbent(s) perform one or more of the following duties.) 



1.  Identifies raw material and component requirements to production from engineering and production specifications and schedules.



2.  Advises management and makes recommendations regarding the status of work in progress, material availability and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed. Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demand, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop lead and inventory requirements.



3.  Coordinates interdepartmental activity with QA, Procurement, Engineering, and Contract Administration. 



4.  Supports the development of capacity and shop loads.



5.  Conducts research required to ensure that parts list reflect design requirements.



6.  Supports the development and dissemination of contract required documents and reports such as shipping instructions, sales orders, and program status reports.



7.  Coordinates and controls the various activities necessary to meet Operations requirements in support of current contracts, such as ensuring the dispatchers are moving various jobs as required, ensuring Engineering changes are processed in a timely manner, and follows up with Material department on material shortages.
Bachelors degree or equivalent relevant experience and knowledge of Oracle manufacturing planning applications and strong computer skills.
