The Senior Project Manager IT is a “hands-on role” involved in day to day issues, risks and deliverables management of highly visible and time sensitive projects in a complex ERP environment. He/she monitors and communicates project status relative to scope, schedule, budget, and quality following the standard software development lifecycle.  The Senior Project Manager IT is responsible for planning, managing and monitoring medium to large scale technology related projects within the IT organization. This position works closely with Senior IT management, functional leads, and business stakeholders to facilitate the successful completion of project deliverables.  
 
In addition to the above, the Senior Project Manager IT is responsible for developing and communicating project management best practices and standards to drive across all IT functional units and acts as a subject matter expert and mentor to the PMO team and IT functional team members. 
 
The Senior Project Manager, IT works with minimal supervision, executes their work in compliance with SunGard’s policies and controls procedures and is responsible for making complex decisions and escalating to Leadership when appropriate.                
 
·         Manages and drives highly visible and time sensitive large scale technology related projects in a complex ERP environment.  
·         Monitor and communicate progress relative to scope, schedules, budgets and quality.   Maintain issue logs, decision logs, status reports, meeting summaries, project schedules. 
·         Matrix manage cross functional teams including IT and business resources
·         Collaborate with business stakeholders to align project deliverables with business goals and expectations.  
·         Serves as the primary project contact.
·         Collaborate with the Program Management Office to share and enhance best practices. 
·         Develop Project Management Best Practices And Standards to drive across all IT functions
·         Provide leadership and act as a subject matter expert for PMO team and IT functional team members
 
 
Job Experience/Skills and Competencies/Knowledge:
 
·         College Degree preferred but will consider applicants with equivalent work related experience with a minimum educational requirement of a H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent.
·         Minimum 7 years project management experience working in IT/software environment required.
·         Previous experience with Software Development Life Cycle in an ERP environment required.
·         Software development/testing/quality experience required.
·         Project Management (PMP) Certification required.
·         Demonstrated experience on project management process improvement team required.
·         Demonstrated experience creating and leading cross-functional project teams
·         Strong analytical skills.  Ability to use conventional and unconventional methods for problem identification and resolution
·         Ability to listen, extrapolate critical business issues and provide solutions to meet customer/prospect needs.
·         Proven Time Management Skills:  Experience prioritizing and executing tasks in a high-pressure, complex environment.
·         Proficiency in risk analysis and report preparation
·         Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with ability to convey information to internal and external customers in a clear, focused and concise manner
·         Outstanding leadership and facilitation skills
·         Ability to communicate across all levels of organization.
·         Proficient use of MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project and other project management tools required.
