The Technical Writer will work with the Customer assisting in the production and dissemination of finished technical documentation. Edits documents and manages the production of other products as required. Conduct reviews of text, graphics, and other formatting to ensure consistency. Coordinate and disseminate finished products as required, ensuring all work is tracked and completed within established timelines. Provide quality control in accordance with Customer policy and standards. Attend regularly scheduled meetings and stay current with ongoing initiatives. Examples of Duties and Responsibilities Creates and revises sections of technical documentation including product descriptions, detailed functional descriptions, operating procedures, maintenance and repair procedures, miscellaneous reports or other technical documentation. Researches and consults with engineering staff on systems and equipment to create and revise technical documentation. Analyzes and interprets engineering drawings and other technical data to translate information into technical documentation. May assist engineers with validating written procedures. Evaluates illustrations and graphics to determine how to best utilize them within documentation. Requests the creation of new illustrations/graphics or changes to existing illustrations/graphics. May assist with overall design of technical documentation by providing input to format and style. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, practices, and applications.
Required Lotus Notes, Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 14+ Years with HS or 10+ Years with AA or 8+ Years with BS or 6+ Years with MS or 3+ Years with PhD Excellent communication skills with the ability to understand engineering designs and to translate them into understandable language for non-engineers.
