BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: 

To develop, write and edit material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction manuals, catalogs and other technical publications concerned with engineering or related technical disciplines.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Edits and proofreads draft and final copy of technical manuals, ETMs, IETMs, XML, presentations, and internal documents for structural and grammatical accuracy, content consistency, readability, appropriate level of language use, and compliance to specifications, format, and customer requirements.
2. Ensures incorporation of editorial and validation/verification comments.
3. Coordinates the flow of work through the department, ensuring on time completion and appropriate use of resources.
4. Works as liaison for Illustrations and Documentation Production groups.
5. Perfrom system administration functions, working in PC environments.
6. Participate in company reviews of technical manuals, ETMs, IETMs, XML authoring/composing, and internal documents as required.
7. Contacts within company to obtain, present, or discuss data in the routine performance of duties.
8. Maintains records and files of work and revisions.
9. Shares the responsibility of self-development with immediate supervisor.
10. Complies with company safety policies and maintains a safe work environment.
11. Performs other duties as necessary and appropriate to this position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

1. Bachelors with 2 years experience, Associates with 4 years experience, High School/GED with 6 years experience
2. Ability to apply structural and grammatical standards to documentation.
3. Author/Compose publications in XML
4. Proficiency/experience with Arbor Text a plus
5. Close mental/visual application required to produce accurate, quality documentation.
