The BAE Systems Joint Expeditionary Forensics Program is seeking a qualified applicant to come aboard as a Forensic Photographer to perform specialized technical work in the field of digital photography and latent print examination to support forensic science efforts. Position entails deployment to Iraq in support of theatre operations. Responsibilities include; photographing evidence utilizing an ALS and latent prints on various backgrounds/surfaces; utilizing Digital Darkroom software to digitally enhance latent print images; photographing various pieces of evidence, processed latent prints, hairs, fibers, and serial numbers on evidence; processing latent prints using standard chemical methods during times of high laboratory throughput; preparing detailed reports on activity performed; maintaining and documenting the chain of custody of evidence; training less experienced employees in the area of forensic photography and latent print processing and other duties as assigned.
During this time, substantial amounts of additional compensation will be added to base salary. Please inquire for additional details.
- Proficient with a digital camera; experience in photographing latent prints
- Able to obtain/maintain an active secret level clearance
- Willing to deploy up to 10-11 months of the year (3-6 month rotations)
- Formal education and/or experience in forensic photography
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 4 years; an Associate's degree and 6 years; or high school diploma coupled with 8 years of experience working in the areas of forensic photography, digital imaging and/or latent print examination
- Meet contractual standards of minimal fitness requirement for deployment to the CENTCOM AO
- Certification through the International Association for Identification (IAI) or Evidence Photographers International Council (EPIC)
