Job Summary:

Functioning under the direction of the Specialty Nurse, Clinical Coordinator and Perioperative Nurse Manager, the Surgical Technologist Specialist is responsible for delivering age appropriate perioperative care that is specific to patient diagnosis and physician preference. The technologist coordinates supplies and equipment within an assigned specialty service.during peak surgery hours.

Required Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED required. Must be a graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program, a licensed practical nurse, or have previous experience as an operating room technologist. Certification preferred.

Required Minimum Experience: Previous hospital or operating room experience preferred.

Required Minimum Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively in a courteous, professional, tactful manner. Must demonstrate ability to work under stress. Emergency call coverage is required. Travel between sites may be required. Must be current in CPR.
