Position Summary: EHS technicians perform technical duties related to safety, health and environmental compliance.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
• Maintain existing MSDS system and ensure new materials and products have appropriate MSDS that are communicated to employees
• Track, maintain and close-out EHS related near miss reports
• Schedule and coordinate safety training for the hourly employees
• Coordinate and analyze the wastewater laboratory; perform daily quality control analysis for environmental compliance
• Perform environmental inspections weekly on regulated waste materials for environmental compliance, in addition to scheduling and coordinating EHS audits.
• Participate in EHS Safety Committee meetings
• Create communication on EHS related material through articles, newsletters, signage, etc,
Additional Responsibilities:
• Support and collaborate with EHS team on tasks as assigned
• Primarily working on 1st shift but available to work on off-shifts as necessary (2nd, 3rd)
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualification/Knowledge Requirements:
• Associates required, Bachelors preferred in environmental, industrial hygiene, or a safety related field
• Minimum of 6 months experience in the EHS field
• Complete RCRA training / DOT certification within the first 3 months of hire
• Strong capability with computer applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint. AutoCAD preferred
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced and changing work environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to energize and motivate teams
• Must be a self-motivated learner
• Ability to recognize conflict and take appropriate action within scope of the role
• Ability to define problem areas, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• The successful candidate will be a hands-on, “on the plant floor” person who can lead by example to help drive behavioral change in the environmental, health and safety arena and drive results in a manufacturing environment
