Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is a world renowned organization dedicated to the progressive control and cure of cancer through programs of patient care, research, and education.
As an integral member of the research team, this position works directly with the Budget and Contract Manager for CTO (Clinical Trials Office) and provides support for budgets and financial management in compliance with institutional guidelines and federal regulations for clinical research. Institutional financial requirement of a budget for every protocol, and the DoM (Department of Medicine) requirement for centralization all budgets justify the need for a Budget and Contract Manager to assist and work with the Budget and Contract Manager to assume some of these additional responsibilities and assist with the large volume of protocols processed in the department.
This position works in parallel with the Budget and Contract Manager to initiate, develop, and implement financial budgets, for industry funded protocols/research as determined by the Budget and Contract Manager. This position will also review all non-industry funded budgets.
The Supervisor, Budgets & Contracts will be responsible for overseeing the staff responsible for invoicing industry funded budgets and contracts and related tracking. This position will serve as back-up for the Contract and Budget Manager and will assume their responsibilities in their absence.
Bachelor’s degree is the minimum requirement, with 3-5 years experience in clinical research with experience in clinical trials agreements and negotiations, and the financial aspects of clinical trial management. Some experience in oncology clinical trials preferred. Master’s degree strongly preferred. This position requires the incumbent to apply a broad knowledge and demonstrated expertise in the field of financial management to assume some managerial responsibility within a clinic research unit of the organization.
